NIIT University Wins ASSOCHAM Award for Technology-Driven Teaching and Learning

NIIT University (NU) was recognised with the ‘Best Private University in Use of Technology in Teaching-Learning Practices’ award at the 2013 National Education Excellence Awards, presented by ASSOCHAM. The recognition highlighted NU’s early adoption of technology as an integral part of its approach to teaching and learning.

At a time when digitalisation had not yet become a defining feature of higher education, NIIT University was already exploring ways to integrate technology into the academic experience. The recognition reflected the university’s vision of using technology not simply as a supporting tool, but as an important component of modern education.

Technology-driven learning can create opportunities for students and faculty to access information, collaborate more effectively and explore new ways of engaging with academic content. For a university focused on preparing students for a technology-led professional environment, integrating digital tools into education also provides an opportunity to connect learning with the changing nature of the workplace.

The award was particularly aligned with one of NIIT University’s four core principles: providing a technology-driven education. This philosophy reflects the university’s emphasis on combining academic learning with technology, innovation and practical exposure.

The National Education Excellence Awards 2013, organised by ASSOCHAM, recognised institutions demonstrating achievements and innovation across different areas of education. NU’s recognition for technology-enabled teaching and learning placed emphasis on its approach to creating a contemporary educational ecosystem.

The award also forms an important part of NIIT University’s journey of embracing technology in education. Long before digital learning became widespread across higher education, NU had positioned technology as a key element of its academic model.

The ASSOCHAM recognition therefore stands as a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to developing a technology-enabled, innovative and future-focused learning environment, preparing students to navigate an increasingly digital world.
