About the Chief Guest, Mr Amitabh Chaudhry, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Axis Bank

Amitabh Chaudhry is a distinguished business leader with extensive experience across banking, financial services, insurance, and technology-enabled businesses. An engineer from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, and a postgraduate in Business Management from IIM Ahmedabad, he has held senior leadership positions across some of India’s leading financial and technology organisations.

Amitabh Chaudhry has served as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Axis Bank since January 2019 and was reappointed for a further three-year term. Under his leadership, Axis Bank has focused on strengthening its digital capabilities, enhancing customer experience, maintaining prudent risk management, and expanding its presence across Bharat. His tenure has also included the acquisition and integration of Citibank India’s consumer businesses, strengthening the Bank’s wealth management and credit-card businesses.

Prior to joining Axis Bank, Amitabh served as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of HDFC Life for more than nine years, where he led the business through a period of growth and strengthened its focus on product innovation and digital capabilities. Earlier, he spent 16 years in banking, including senior roles at Bank of America, before joining the founding leadership team of Infosys BPM in 2003. During his eight-year tenure at Infosys, he was instrumental in building the business-process outsourcing operation and also led the Validation Services portfolio.

Amitabh Chaudhry has also played an active role in India’s business and industry ecosystem. He has served as Chairperson of the FICCI National Committee on Banking since 2019 and is the Senior Vice-President of ASSOCHAM. He is also the Chairman of the Boards of Axis Capital Limited, Axis Finance Limited, and Axis Asset Management Company Limited.

His leadership has received significant recognition. In September 2025, he was honoured with the “Banker of the Year” award at the Financial Express Best Banks Awards 2025, recognising his leadership of Axis Bank. The awards were selected through an independent jury-led process, with EY as the knowledge partner and evaluation supported by data from the Reserve Bank of India.

Amitabh Chaudhry’s career reflects a breadth of experience across sectors and institutions, encompassing banking, technology, business-process services, insurance, and financial services. His professional journey—from Bank of America and Infosys to HDFC Life and Axis Bank—exemplifies leadership across changing industries, evolving technologies, and shifting business landscapes.

Message

Shri Amitabh Kant, Chairperson, NIIT University

Dear Graduating Students,

It gives me immense pleasure to offer my warmest congratulations to the graduating batch of 2026. Today closes one chapter and opens another, filled with both possibility and responsibility.

You are entering a world reshaped by technology, economic change, and global shifts. From artificial intelligence to clean energy and advanced manufacturing, the tools of work and production are being reinvented. In this world, the ability to learn, adapt, and innovate will be essential. Judgement, integrity, empathy, and the courage to make choices that serve a larger purpose will matter just as much.

Do not ask only, “What can I achieve?” Ask also, “What difference can I make?”

India stands at an extraordinary moment in its journey. We are a young, fast-growing economy, building new capabilities across technology, industry, and infrastructure. The opportunities before your generation are immense. You carry both the privilege and the responsibility to help build an India that is more prosperous, inclusive, innovative, and globally respected.

Do not be content to be passengers in the transformation around you. Be its architects.

My heartfelt congratulations to each of you, and to your parents, families, faculty members, and mentors who have supported you throughout this journey.

Your years at NIIT University have given you knowledge, skills, and the opportunity to think across disciplines and beyond familiar boundaries. Education, at its best, is about more than what you can achieve. It is about what you can contribute.

Dream boldly, but remain grounded. Embrace change, but hold firmly to your values. Wherever your journey takes you, remember that lasting success is measured by the lives you elevate, not just by the heights you reach.

The future is not something you inherit. It is something you have the opportunity to build.

Go forward with ambion in your heart, integrity in your choices, and a deep sense of purpose.

I wish the graduating batch of 2026 every success, fulfilment, and distinction in the years ahead.

Shri Rajendra S Pawar, Founder, NIIT University and Chairman & Co-Founder, NIIT Group

Dear NUtons,

It gives me immense pride to see another cohort of NUtons graduate today. My warmest congratulaons to each of you, and to your families, teachers and mentors who have been part of your journey

Go forward with confidence, curiosity, and purpose—and make your education count!

Be curious enough to challenge the obvious, humble enough to keep learning, and courageous enough to venture where there are no ready answers. And wherever your journey takes you, remember that your greatest achievement will not be the position you occupy, but the value you create.

Use technology as an instrument, never surrender your judgement to it. When machines can answer almost every question, the real advantage will belong to those who ask new questions.

Your degree is not the destination. It is the foundation for everything you are yet to become.

Do not measure your education by how much you know today, but by how readily you can learn what tomorrow demands. Don’t merely prepare yourself for the future. Build the capability to shape it.

The world you are entering will change faster than any curriculum can anticipate. AI will make knowledge increasingly accessible, but what will matter even more is your ability to think critically, ask the right questions, solve unfamiliar problems, and continuously learn and adapt.

India has made remarkable progress in expanding access to education. The challenge before the next generation is different—to turn education into capability. India’s next phase of growth will depend not merely on the number of graduates we produce, but on the capability, creativity, and character of those graduates.

Shri Vijay K Thadni, Co-Founder, NIIT University, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, NIIT Group

My Dear Graduating NUtons,

Congratulations on reaching this defining moment in your life. Today is not only a celebration of your academic success, but also a testament to the character, curiosity, and courage you have built along the way. Each of you has embarked on a journey of discovery—adapting, persevering, and growing into thinkers and doers ready for the world beyond NIIT University.

Your cohort graduates at a proud moment for NU, recently recognised as the Top Private University in North India. This honour reflects the same spirit you have carried throughout your years here—embracing change, collaborating deeply, and turning obstacles into stepping stones. The knowledge and skills you have acquired, the friendships you have built, and the experiences you have gained will remain your constant companions as you navigate life’s next chapters.

You now step into a world where AI has moved from assistant to agent, reshaping industries at extraordinary speed. As NUtons, you carry the unique advantage of a technology-intensive, innovation-driven, and human-skills-enriched education. This combination equips you to lead confidently through uncertainty, rather than simply adapt to it.

The future will belong to those who pair technological wisdom with human values. I encourage you to lead with your mind, embracing that perfect combination of head and heart. Use technology wisely, but above all, stay authentic as a human being.

I am confident that you will achieve exceptional success in the years ahead.

Wishing you boundless success!

Prof Prakash Gopalan, President, NIIT University

Dear Graduating Students,

It is with immense pride and pleasure that I congratulate the graduating batch of 2026.

Today, you leave NIIT University with much more than a degree. You leave with experiences that have challenged you, friendships that have shaped you, and lessons that extend far beyond the classroom.

You have questioned, explored, experimented, collaborated, and, at times, learned through failure. That is education in its truest sense—not simply learning the answers, but developing the confidence to confront questions for which there are no easy answers.

As you begin the next chapter, remember that your education does not end today. The world will keep changing, and your greatest advantage will be your willingness to keep learning, unlearning, and reinventing yourself.

But capability without character is incomplete. Wherever you go, let integrity guide your choices, empathy shape your relationships, and purpose give meaning to your ambition.

Do not measure your journey only by the positions you reach. Measure it also by the people you inspire, the problems you solve, and the difference you leave behind.

As you leave the campus, remember that NIIT University will always be part of your story. And you will always be part of ours.

Today, you receive a degree. Tomorrow, the world will ask what you do with it.

I hope you use it with courage, curiosity, and purpose.

Hearest congratulaons, NUtons. May your journey ahead be meaningful, fulfilling and
worthy of the possibilies before you.
